About the Presenter

Dr. Jeffrey Wagner is a board-certified neurologist. After completing his fellowship in Neurophysiology at the University of Utah, he joined Blue Sky Neurology in 2009. Dr. Wagner works as a neurohospitalist in our Denver market and throughout our telemedicine network. He is a Regional Stroke Medical Director for telestroke. His areas of interest in neurology include telemedicine, stroke systems of care, and vascular neurology.

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a significant health concern, with an estimated 350,000–356,000 cases in the U.S. in 2020. Only 24% of patients survive to hospital admission, and fewer than 10% are discharged with good neurological outcomes. Withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment (WLST) is the most common cause of in-hospital death after OHCA, underscoring the need for accurate, multimodal prognostic assessments.
