Description
Telestroke is one of the most ubiquitous applications of telehealth in the acute care setting. A successful telestroke program requires intentional planning and a high level of engagement from all parties. This webinar will review telestroke basics, best practices for success, and includes specific tips for the bedside RN when interacting with the teleneurologist.
After completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe the purpose of telestroke
- Discuss best practices for telestroke programs
- Explain ways that the bedside RN can improve the care of their telestroke patients
About the Presenter
Becky van Vliet, MS, APRN, ACCNS-AG, CNRN received her Bachelor’s of Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in 2006. She started her nursing career in a neuroscience unit and has been committed to neurosciences ever since. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Colorado in 2013 with specialization as an Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist. She is currently the Director of Quality for Blue Sky Telehealth where she integrates her previous bedside, advanced practice, and CSC stroke coordinator experience to improve processes and access to acute stroke care at hospitals all around the country.
